Know Before You Go: Activities

There are no words to describe how beautiful and extraordinary The Greenbrier is. From its stunning décor to its endless activities, there are truly countless reasons you should visit the historic Greenbrier Resort. With more than 55 indoor and outdoor activities available to guests at The Greenbrier, there is something to fit every personality in any type of weather. From intense outdoor pursuits to new and traditional recreational sports, a visit to America's Resort can take on many different forms, all of which leave guests pining for their return.

The Greenbrier literally has something for everyone. For those more adventurous, The Greenbrier offers trap, skeet, and sporting clays and off-road driving. Of course, there is a bowling alley, 3 golf courses, tennis courts and clinics, indoor and outdoor pools, and an ice cream parlor. The Greenbrier Spa offers several unique treatments including one that utilizes the healing waters from the nearby White Sulphur Springs.

“America’s Resort” is so steeped in our nation’s history that it offers not one but two historical tours. “Declassified The Bunker at the Greenbrier tells the story behind a top-secret, government-maintained underground bunker built as a fallout shelter for the House of Representatives and the Senate during the Cold War, hidden below the high-end Greenbrier Hotel for more than 30 years. Two football-field-size levels held 1,100 bunk beds, a fully stocked cafeteria and medical clinic, and a TV studio.

The Greenbrier is more than just a place; it is truly a memorable experience for the whole family. The resort offers services for childcare and kids’ adventures. The Adventure Zone provides scheduled group activities for children ages 3-12. Reservations can be made by calling 304-536-1110 ext. 7136. If you need childcare, babysitting is available by calling 304-536-1110 ext. 7282.

We invite you to partake in this Greenbrier tradition of afternoon tea and explore your personal 11,000-acre playground and discover an unparalleled selection of luxury leisure pursuits and outdoor adventures designed to satisfy and stimulate your most comprehensive range of interests.
